Cowon iAudio overhauled to version 7

Posted by skraghav on June 22, 2007

cowoniaudio7.jpgCowon’s line of iAudio portable media players come with a certain level of quality that consumers can expect, and the iAudio 7 is no different. This latest iteration in the iAudio line will take a similar form factor as its predecessor, but ditches the micro hard drive in favor of flash memory. Sounds like good news, eh? After all, having skip-proof music is definitely an advantage no matter how you look at it, and flash memory won’t consume that much battery power compared to a hard drive. The iAudio 7 is said to come with 60 hours of continuous audio playback before requiring a recharge. More details after the jump.

The iAudio 7 supports AAC, FLAC, OGG, MP3, WMA, and WAV audio formats while video support extends to XviD-encoded files. Features include a 1.3″ LCD display, an integrated FM tuner, and voice recording capability. The Cowon iAudio 7 will be available in 4GB and 8GB models that retail for $182 and $246 respectively. Both models will see a July 18th launch in Korea, and you can choose from black with either a silver or red trim.
